Even though we have covered virtually every blade of grass in Cyprus over more than 38 years, we can truly say that Argaka is still one of our favourite spots. When you turn off the coast road heading east out of Polis, following the signpost for Argaka and climbing gently towards the hills, stop at our site and look back the way you came. Spread out below you, beyond the acres of fragrant orange groves, is the most stunning view of the Akamas Peninsula as it rises from the glittering Mediterranean. And behind you are the fir-topped hills, which signify the edge of the Troodos range. This is truly one of the ‘must have views’ in all of Cyprus, and it can be yours!

Up here (only 3km from the coast road), there’s a grocery shop, a school, and houses of course, but that’s about it. No matter, however, because the pretty town of Polis, with modern shops and a whole host of tavernas and café bars, is only 6km (10 minutes drive) away, even though it could be in another world. Most of the commercial activity of Argaka takes place in the thread of tavernas dotted along the coast road east towards the wonderful fishing harbour of Pomos. You can meander along here in the height of the summer season and stop off for a quick dip in the sea – you’ll probably have a beach to yourself!

Akamas Village is a superb development of 2 and 3 bedroom townhouses, all with private roof terraces, so that everyone can enjoy the views.
